What's new in VIKTOR (November 2023)

by VIKTOR Team

The time has come for November's platform update. For this month, we have been working on moving apps to the App Store, a new labeling feature for apps and workspaces, and the option to embed your apps in web pages! For this month's community spotlight, we want to share Bayo Windapo's (Archithera) Precinct Development application.

Find your organization's apps in the App Store

If you use VIKTOR apps to automate (parts of) your workflow, you're probably not the only person in your organization doing so. Chances are your colleagues in different departments have built their own apps for different projects and processes. To make it easy for anyone (admins, developers, and end-users) to discover which applications have been developed in your organization, all these tools can now be found in the App Store, rather than in the separate Apps menu where they used to be located. On this page, users can find information about the maintainers of apps and how to get in contact with them as well.

Categorize your apps with labels

Chances are there are quite some apps developed within your organization, not only by you but perhaps by your colleagues too. An increasing number of apps calls for a feature that helps you organize them so users can easily find the tools they need within the environment. To help you create a clear system for each team member, we introduce labels.

You can use labels, for example, to categorize your apps per discipline, integration, or industry. By combining labels, you can help users filter for multidisciplinary apps that might also use specific software integrations.

Labels can be assigned to apps and workspaces by developers and workspace admins respectively. Environments come with a pre-defined set of labels but if you'd like to customize these to fit your organization’s systems, admins can create and edit labels themselves too.

Embed public apps in your web page

It's now possible to embed public apps in any web page, such as a blog post or SharePoint page, using an HTML iframe. You can find the embed code after clicking on ‘share’ in the top right corner of a public app.

Community spotlight

This month in the community spotlight: the Precinct Development application by Archithera's Bayo Windapo. His app allows you to shape precincts seamlessly, starting with the surface parking layer and the capability to define regions or structures and landscaping. This is followed by a comprehensive suite of input options offering extensive control over parameters for parking allocations, circulation pathways, building zones, and green spaces.

Would you like to share your application with the rest of the community as well? Please let us know by sending an email to support@viktor.ai!
