What's new in VIKTOR (October 2025)

VIKTOR

by VIKTOR

This October, we're introducing smarter app creation, meaning the App Builder now brainstorms with you to help you get to your desired app faster, and improvements on projects that make it simpler to find, organise, and manage your work. Curious to learn more about these updates? Keep reading!

New in the App Builder: Brainstorming for better results

Writing a good prompt can make or break the app you generate. To help everyone get the best results, we've introduced a brainstorming agent in the App Builder. Is your prompt:

  • Super vague? The agent will ask follow-up questions to understand your goal before creating specifications.
  • Somewhat clear? It will draft a standard app specification for you to refine.
  • Crystal clear? It’ll go straight to building your app.

The result: faster starts, smarter guidance, and higher-quality apps. Even if it’s your first time prompting!

Improved project management and visibility

Managing projects in VIKTOR got a whole lot easier! We've introduced several improvements that make it simpler to find, organise, and manage your work.

🔍 Smarter project overviews

As your list of projects grows, staying organised shouldn’t be a challenge. You can now:

  • Filter projects by owner or visibility.
  • Sort projects by creation date or project name.
  • View the number of apps per project (and click to see their names).

👥 Simplified access requests

When someone requests access to a project, that request now goes directly to the project owner, instead of all environment admins. This ensures the right person takes action quickly, preventing duplicate projects and improving collaboration.

🏗️ Clearer app-to-project visibility

You can now easily see which projects an app from the App Store is being used in. The project name is visible directly on the app details page, helping you keep track of where your apps live and how they’re being used.

Community Spotlight

This app by Alejandro Duarte Vendries empowers engineers to define all parameters for designing a transmission tower, fully automated from start to finish. The app uses Autodesk’s Design Automation API, one of the core tools in Autodesk Platform Services (APS) to create complete Revit models without ever opening Revit.

🎥 Check out the video to see how Alejandro’s app transforms simple inputs into a detailed Revit model.
