What's new in VIKTOR (August 2026)

VIKTOR

by VIKTOR

This month brings smarter views, easier ETABS and SAP2000 integrations, more table customization, and several improvements across the VIKTOR platform. Keep reading for what’s new!

New ways to customize tables

We've added more ways to customize tables in your apps! You can now use formatted text such as bold, italic, and links within cells. Learn more about styling and formatting text in tables using markdown here.

Views now only update when needed

The views in your app now only recompute when an input they actually use changes.

Previously, changing any input could mark all views as out of date, including unrelated ones. For example, changing a project name will no longer recompute a beam visualization if that view only uses the beam dimensions.

Each view also now has an update button and timestamp, so you can see when it was last calculated and refresh it manually when needed.

Integrating with ETABS and SAP2000 is now easier

Connecting ETABS or SAP2000 to a VIKTOR app no longer requires a separate Python script. This script was sent from the app to a local worker on your computer, where it was executed to interact with the software.

The new generation of ETABS and SAP2000 workers changes this. You can now write your integration as if you were communicating directly with the ETABS or SAP2000 API. Instead of executing Python code locally, the connection is limited to actions within ETABS or SAP2000.

The new ETABS and SAP2000 integrations are available in the App Builder for everyone to use. The App Builder is optimized to work with both integrations.

Visit the documentation to learn more about setting up ETABS and SAP2000 in VIKTOR.

Admins

Manage all apps in one place

The new All Apps page gives administrators a single place to manage every application in their company environment. View apps in a list or grid, quickly filter and sort them, and perform bulk actions.
