Digital Engineering Community: Fast digitization with collaboration

The DEC is an initiative of Heijmans, BAM Infra Nederland, and Ballast Nedam. As of recently, Boskalis Nederland, Dura Vermeer, Mobilis, van Oord, VIKTOR, and VolkerWessels have become a part of the community as well. That is why it is now time to share the DEC with the rest of the world as well!

First application developments

Now the first applications are being developed, it already shows that collaborating is the future. These kind of developments are happening in every company. It is a big task, but not a unique one. Therefore, when we are working together on every aspect, there is no need for everyone to reinvent the wheel each time. By collaborating as a sector we can digitize faster, more effective, and cheaper!

Trust is at the core

On construction projects there is already a lot of collaborating going on. Also on this new theme people are starting to collaborate and trust each other. Every organization is free to choose whether they want to join in on a development or not and is also free to participate later on. There are several ways organizations can participate in a development, such as by supplying usable code, offering skilled programmers, or providing financial support. The expansion of the DEC with other organizations is the next logical step and we are looking forward to it!
